overview

The Battle of Sardarapat was a battle of the Caucasus Campaign of World War I that took place near Sardarapat (modern-day Armavir) Armenia, in May 1918 between the regular Armenian troops and military units on one side and the Ottoman army that had invaded Eastern Armenia on the other.

challenge

Over the centuries Armenians found the strength to struggle for their freedom and independence. On 28th May 1918 Armenian forces managed to prevent their invasion to Transcaucasia and to save Armenia from complete destruction. Their glorious victories helped the nation to reclaim their long-wished independence and after 900 years restore their statehood. It was the very First Armenian Republic that laid the foundations of the Armenians state thinking, preservation of identity and nation-building.

solution

Traditionally, Armenians always remember the victories erected by our heroes and with great solemnity celebrate the independence of the First Armenian Republic on May 28 of every year. With that spirit on the 100th Anniversary of the First Republic and the May courageous battles, our team created hand-drawn posters portraying the story of these heroes.

The Public Radio of Armenia, on this occasion, approached us to create a calendar that will convey the triumphant spirit of the historical era. Of course, it was an honor for our team to have our contribution to this big celebration and converted our posters to the meaningful calendar that was distributed in schools, universities, libraries and even diasporan institutions.
