Throwback to 2020

Year 2020 was tough for the whole globe: lack of events, live communication, lack of travel and inspiration. From the beginning of pandemic, we were determined to nail it against all odds and today, as we look back at 2020, we see that human determination and persistence is so strong that even global disease, pandemic, lockdown and even war can’t stop you from achieving your goals. So, as an encouragement to us and to our followers, friends, partners and clients, we have decided to throw a look back to 2020 and see what we’ve achieved. Let’s start from the beginning of 2020:

  • Last year started with great news about our project «Riceman» being featured in Creapills Platform the number 1 francophone website specialized in design and creativity. With over 4 million followers on social media and 3 million monthly visitors to their website, our Riceman got a vast exposure globally.
  • Our design for ANI Product has been selected among January’s Top 10 best & most popular Packaging by “Packaging of the world” rating.
  • With 1 platinum, 10 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze awards, we have reached the 8th  position in Pentawards’ all-time Top 20 winners table.  The ranking is based on Pentawards most point accumulating agencies since 2007! A total of 1000 agencies from around the globe have competed since 2007 and it is worth mentioning that Backbone Branding is the youngest among these world’s 20 most successful agencies and studios.
  • Our most popular projects of 2020 on Pentawards – Hero’s , Tomacho, Mrgastan, ՓILOSOՓ and Ani Dairy brought us 4 GOLD, and 1 BRONZE awards.
  • Second time in a row we became the Agency of the Year by the most renowned award Pentawards.
  • We have received the Gold A’ Design Award & Competition in the Packaging Design category for Yan Organic Juice. The Italian A’ Design Award and Competition is highly competitive and an internationally renowned platform.
  • We were invited alongside top food packaging agencies from around the globe to participate in the FBIB 2020 Exhibition in Hangzhou, China. Senior executives from the world’s leading brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi Co, Mondelez, Nestle, etc. were present. The 3 day highly effective exhibition was attended by more than 6000 people and we were so delighted to have the opportunity to represent our country and showcase our company and our works.
  • 2 of our works got awarded at Dieline Awards. Our Coloreat project got the first Place Dieline 2020 and Beak Pick became Second Place Dieline 2020 Winner.
  • We have won 3 Marking Awards from a Shanghai based Award, one of the very few Asian F&B packaging design contests that accepts international participants from all around the world. Its goal is to praise brilliant package designs, and encourage communication between local and global design power.
    Beak Pick got  Marking Communication Award 2020 in Label design category,  Coloreat  got Best Design of Business Value 2020 in Product Design category and our Unblackit got Marking Concept Award.
  • All 6 projects submitted at World Brand design society awards brought us awards. We We got 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze awards!
  • Our Founder and Creative director Stepan Azaryan was invited as a speaker in CreativeMornings Yerevan show, hosting a lecture on the topic of #CMspectrum.
  • Packaging of the World announced the top 50 projects of 2020selected by their social post views, shares, social likes, re-tweets, repins and people reached. 2 of our projects are among the best!
  • Several times we were chosen as the Favorite Design’s «Designer of the day» thanks to our Coloreat , Riceman, Yan and other projects.
  • HERO’S was one of the TOP 10 Packaging designs for August, by “Packaging of the world” rating.
  • The views on the most famous design platform “Behance” hit 1.000.000 and the appreaciations we more than 120.000. Have you already had the chance to visit our Behance profile?

Wow, what a year…. Year full of strong emotions, struggle through difficulties, triumph over hardship. We are alive, we continue to inspire and get inspired, and we keep making the world a better place by doing what we are best at – design.
