The Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (ANPO), a true symbol of Armenia’s cultural heartbeat, celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark this milestone, we set out to design a special logo that honors a century of musical heritage while confidently looking toward the future.
challenge
Creating a single logo to represent 100 years of music, passion, and legacy was no small task. It needed to feel timeless, a mark that could capture both the depth of ANPO’s history and the energy that drives it forward today. Our goal was to design an emblem that felt alive: meaningful, elegant, and worthy of a century-long story.
solution
Our inspiration came directly from the orchestra's storied past and visual heritage. The core of the anniversary logo is the number “100.” We thoughtfully integrated the ANPO's earlier logo, the distinctive silhouette of a conductor's baton in motion, directly into the “1” of “100.” This creates a powerful visual continuity, linking the orchestra's iconic past with its living present. The two “0”s are dynamic and interactive elements. One stands as a clean, open frame and the other as a golden disc resembling a cymbal; both are designed to function as “photographic zones.” They are windows that can frame the orchestra's activity, from concert scenes and musician portraits to elegant close-ups of instruments. This design gives the ANPO a mark that is both stable in its meaning and fluid in its use, perfectly reflecting an institution rooted in history but always performing in the now.
